SEPTEMBER 24–27, 2020
In support of the DeSantos Foundation
Our annual Niagara Falls group fundraising walk was cancelled this year due to COVID-19, but Master Instructor Kwan Jan Nim Veronica DeSantos will be making the 140+ km trek herself next week in support of the non-profit DeSantos Foundation!
If you would like to join Kwan Jan Nim for part or all of her challenging trek, please let us know! Or sponsor her individually or as a group!

APRIL 2020 WALK CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19
Walk with us! Every April, friends, families, co-workers, and fitness buffs of all ages join DeSantos Premier Martial Arts students on our annual Walk from Toronto to Niagara Falls in support of the DeSantos Foundation. The Saturday before, we also hold the 5-km Friendship Walk, a 5-km stroll for walkers of all ages starting at our Main & Gerrard location and finishing at our Gerrard & Broadview location.
Whether you join us for one day or for the entire 4-day, 140+ km challenge, it’s an unforgettable experience where personal goals are accomplished and new friendships are forged!
5 KM FRIENDSHIP WALK
This casual walk from our Main Street location to our Broadview location is great for kids and families!
Everyone is welcome to register — participants do not have to be DeSantos students.
WALK FROM TORONTO TO NIAGARA FALLS
Walk for one or two days — or challenge yourself to all four!
This challenging walk is perfect for lone walkers, social groups, and corporate teams.
Walking for all four days is not for the faint-of-heart, but is is an incredibly unique and rewarding experience!
DAY 1: Toronto to Oakville (about 40 km)
DAY 2: Oakville to Grimsby (about 40 km)
DAY 3: Grimsby to St. Catharines (about 40 km)
DAY 4: St. Catharines to Niagara Falls (about 25 km — this is the easiest day)
Everyone is welcome to register for all or any number of days.
Participants do not have to be DeSantos students.
REGISTER TO WALK
Anyone may register to walk for one day, all four days, or any combination of days. Participants do not have to be students of DeSantos Premier Martial Arts—anyone may join, and we even encourage teams of walkers, so feel free to propose a challenge group with your friends or co-workers. The registration fee includes a t-shirt to commemorate your walk. Register in-person at any of our Toronto locations or online.
There is much to organize along the walk: snacks and hydration, bathroom breaks, sponsors, and our drivers who support our walkers along the route. Call us or sign up online if you’d like to help out.
Funds raised benefit the non-profit DeSantos Foundation in partnership with ADHIKA via CanadaHelps. Tax receipts can be issued for amounts of $25 and over. Each walker is encouraged to raise a minimum amount and when registering online you can even choose the walker you wish to support with a convenient drop-down list. If you are not registering to walk but still wish to contribute, you may donate online.
We offer multiple levels of corporate sponsorship. Contact us at 416-699-5078 to find out how to participate.
CHEER US ON!
Follow the daily route maps and see photos and updates on our Facebook page. If we’re passing through your area, feel free to introduce yourself and give some encouragement to our walkers. Even join us for a drink at the hotel at the end of each day! Many walkers are joined by their family members and friends as we approach the Falls.
THE DESANTOS FOUNDATION
Community involvement has always been an integral part of our philosophy from the Principles of Black Belt and Student Pledge. We believe in contributing positive, empowering programs and vital resources to those living in our community both locally and globally.
The non-profit DeSantos Foundation is a way for DeSantos Premier Martial Arts students and families to give back to our communities. This is a monetary fund that supports socially disadvantaged individuals and families within our communities, both locally and globally, by providing increased resources to help them reach their highest potential.
